Questions about choosing a planner

How do I choose an event planner in Charlotte?

Start with the kind of event. Some planners work mainly on weddings, some on corporate hospitality and ticket packages, some on decoration, activations or picnics. Compare what each firm offers, check that it covers your date and guest count, and ask for the services it would handle. The planner or DIY guide lists the questions that matter.

Does a planner handle permits?

A planner can coordinate them, but the application belongs to the host or the venue. Street use goes through the Charlotte Department of Transportation and a large tent needs a Charlotte Fire Department permit. See event permits and tents.

How far ahead should I contact a planner?

As early as the date is set. Permit applications alone need at least 30 days for street use, and popular venues book well ahead. The budget and timeline guide works backward from the event date.

Do these planners work outside Charlotte?

Each profile shows the city where the planner is based. Many work across the region, so ask whether your venue is within the area they cover.
